Ifilm is one of the net’s most popular video websites. It has video’s involving just about anything and everything. Videos ranging from a Halo sitcom to guys backyard wrestling to videos taken from the soldiers in Iraq, ifilm has it all. It works pretty much the same way as you tube does. Videos are posted by anybody signed up for ifilm, and posts can be left by other users of the site. Anybody who wants to see what’s going on in Iraq or even wants a good laugh could go onto this site and check out some of the seemingly endless amounts of videos, like this shocker http://www.ifilm.com/video/2803472/channel/viralvideo.
To even further expand the amount of content the site has, it even has links towards clips of television shows such as The Chappell’s Show, Reno911, Punk’d, and Wildboyz from such networks as Comedy Central, MTV, and MTV2. This could create some problems because some networks rely on people watching the actual network. If people stop watching the actual networks, then they will just shut down plain and simple. But one good thing about this site is that if you’re bored, you can check out some videos and have a laugh. Or, if you missed an episode of a show, you could search the site for that episode.
I like this site because it gives me access to thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of videos, all unique and different. All of their videos are categorized which makes finding a video faster and easier. Their categories include kitty cats, spoofs, Mr. T, Demolitions, and even Japanese TV! So, for example, if I wanted to see how a certain paintball gun works, I would search the gun type, and watch the video of it. Sometimes the comments help me as well. Some people will post things like “that gun sucks” or “if your going to use that gun, then you should upgrade it with…”
This site could be the next youtube. Anything can happen, and because of Google buying youtube, yahoo might be looking for a video site now. This would boost yahoo’s popularity in the internet world. Because of the amount of users on ifilm and how long it has been around, ifilm may be a more worthy purchase than youtube. You can even subscribe to ifilm. This will send you e-mails giving you information on current updates and new videos so that you’re never left out of the fun.
ifilm has videos for all ages. This doesn’t mean that it’s appropriate for all ages; it means that if you have a younger person on ifilm, he should have some sort of supervision because this is a site to upload videos. Anything could happen and your little kid could be watching stuff intended for older audiences. Even if he/she was accessing something as seemingly harmless as backyard wrestling, how do you think these people got these ideas in the first place? From watching other people do it!!!
So have some fun checking out the site. There are a lot of laughs, bumps and bruises waiting for you to watch.
